SUMMARY
The Superintendent, construction provides the overall on-site administrative and technical management for a pipeline project. Possessing wide-ranging technical and managerial skills, the Superintendent's role is normally one of independent project supervision for small to medium-size projects or directing one major segment of a more extensive project. The Superintendent ensures the total construction effort is in accordance with design, budget and schedule, and reports to the Area Manager of Bonnyville. The incumbent must be willing to travel as the project demands.
 
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is achieved by delivery of safe, quality and productive construction services. 
  • Execute job plans in an efficient and organized manner - ensure that the work progresses according to schedule, material and equipment is delivered to the site on time, and the activities of the various workers do not interfere with one another. 
  • Hire and employ competent and safe working employees who exhibit a positive attitude 
  • Maintain and operate all company equipment and facilities in accordance with approved company operating standards and practices. 
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the various trade groups on site. 
  • Estimating on upcoming projects
  • Invoicing project values
PROJECT LOCATION
  • Various scopes of work/locations throughout Alberta
  • Willing to travel for work (Camp or LOA)
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Related Journeyman level Trade certification
  • Minimum 5-8 years experience
  • Knowledge of civil and mechanical work
  • Strong focus on safety and quality of work
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience estimating different scopes of work (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to balance office time and field supervision
  • Ability to build and foster a positive work environment
  • Willing to travel for work (Camp or LOA)
