The department

Welltec is actively recruiting for a Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist for our Finance Team in Katy, TX . We are looking for strong candidates with experience as a payroll specialist with accounting knowledge. 

 

 

The position 

As a Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist at Welltec your tasks will include:

  • Overall responsibility for semi-monthly multi-state payroll utilizing third party vendor payroll system
  • Oversees the company’s payroll tax compliance, with support from third party payroll system (ADP)
  • Records payroll financial data into accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV)
  • First point of contact for employee payroll questions – will act closely with Human Resources department as appropriate
  • Maintains a strong system on internal control by ensuring all policies and procedures adherence, while maintaining confidentiality of all payroll information.
  • Track and input all payroll deductions and reimbursements on a timely basis
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
  • Track accrued vacation for all employees in assigned area
  • Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policy and process with payroll
  • Review field bonus work reports for compliance with company policy and process with payroll
  • Assist Finance team members with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable duties as needed
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by Finance Manager
 

The candidate

The preferred candidate has the following profile:

  • At least 2 - 10 years US payroll experience utilizing third party vendor. ADP experience preferred
  • Good communicator, excellent organizational skills, capable of prioritizing and working with self-motivation
  • Familiar with office management procedures and basic accounting and financial principles
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Fluent in English language - both written and verbal
