Compressor Engine Testing Technician

The principal role of the Compressor Engine Testing Technician ( otherwise referred to as Multi-Sector Air Pollutant Regulations (MSAPR) emissions technician) will be conducting performance tests, emission checks, and the reporting of the tests on stationary spark-ignition engines, while promoting a healthy and safe workplace and ensuring top performance and quality service.

 


E X P E C T A T I O NS

 

- Flexible in terms of schedule and travel requirements within BC, AB, and SK

- Understand MSAPR regulations and guidelines, which are the mandatory national air pollutant

- Emissions standards for major industrial facilities in Canada

- Strong work ethic and ensure that safe work procedures and processes are followed in the field

- Excellent communication, organization, time-management, and prioritization skills

- Manage and deal with ever-changing job requirements

- Work in field and office environments depending on current business needs

 

K E Y  R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S

- Conduct performance tests, and emission checks on compressor engines with the use and care of a exhaust gas analyzer and other specialized equipment

- Documentation of exhaust emissions, and reporting of  NOx levels as per MSAPR requirements

- Confident to initiate questions pertaining to scope, schedule, and cost to ensure effective delivery of field execution

- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients

- Carry out field work under the direction of supervisor

 

Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S / E X P E R I E N C E

- Four (4) years of experience in compressor engine maintenance

- Heavy duty mechanic or a millwright ticket considered an asset

- Industry related certification and/or work experience

- In-depth knowledge of field activities, and oil and gas facilities

- Fluent with Microsoft Office, Google, and company software applications

- Required HSE training for field work

- Valid Alberta Class 5 operator’s license or equivalent with clean driver abstract.
