Kings Energy Group is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to run dispatch out of our Lloydminster branch and lead our team of Fuel Truck Operators from the morning tailgate to the last drop. This is the seat where the day gets built: you sequence the loads, brief the operators before they leave the yard, and stay the first call when a truck goes down, the weather turns, or a client changes the plan.

Alongside that, you keep the numbers honest: watching client tank levels so deliveries land before anyone runs dry, calling clients along the route to fill partly loaded trucks, and reconciling tickets and bills of lading against litres actually delivered. Safety and regulatory compliance are held without exception, no matter how tight the schedule. If you enjoy solving the puzzle of routes, loads, and hours, and you lead a team well while you do it, you will fit right in.

Duties and Responsibilities

Driver Leadership & Team Management

Lead a team of Fuel Truck Operators in Lloydminster, and coordinate third-party carriers
Host daily morning tailgates before trucks roll, covering weather and road conditions, hazards at specific client sites, and the day's priorities
Confirm every operator leaves the yard clear on their loads, trip sequence, and what each client is expecting
Stay reachable through the day as the operators' first call when issues arise or a client changes the plan
Give feedback same day, correcting missed pre-trips, paperwork gaps, or unsafe shortcuts, and recognizing strong work just as quickly
Build the driver schedule, arrange vacation and sick coverage, and manage the weekend on-call rotation so coverage is maintained without burning anyone out
Track operator performance on delivery, safety, and efficiency measures, and bring those numbers to the weekly scorecard
Act on feedback from operators, adjusting routing and handover practices to improve systems

Route & Load Optimization

Build and sequence daily loads so trucks leave full and transport costs are minimized
Get assignments out to operators early and accurately, then rework the plan through the day as emergency fuel calls, weather, and client delays reshape it
Resolve issues quickly as they surface, keeping disruptions from impacting the rest of the day's schedule
Monitor load and unload times at racks, bulk plants, and client sites, tracking demurrage and chasing the causes of wait time until the charges stop
Look for ways to tighten the dispatch process, reduce cost per litre delivered, and remove any unnecessary steps

Client Engagement & Volume Gap Management

Confirm delivery details with clients, answer questions on timing and product, and follow through on concerns rather than waiting to be chased
Spot partly loaded trucks and gaps in the day's schedule before they leave the yard
Call clients along the day's routes to top up volumes, fill the gaps, and optimize loads
Monitor weekly utilization and volume targets, turning empty tanks into delivered litres

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

Hold operators to TDG protocols, internal safety standards, and Kings' standard operating procedures on every run, with no exceptions made for a tight schedule
Review daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, hours of service logs, and electronic logging records, following up on anything missing or incomplete
Keep the team current on accident prevention, spill response, environmental handling requirements, and emergency procedures so everyone goes home safe

Paperwork, Reconciliation & Inventory

Collect delivery tickets and bills of lading daily and reconcile them against litres actually delivered
Sort out missing information or discrepancies at the dispatch desk, and approve reconciled paperwork before it goes to the back office
Keep dispatch records current so load assignments, delivery outcomes, and daily activity can be reviewed or audited at any point
Support the accounting team with billing questions and month end, tracing a ticket back to the run when something does not line up
Monitor client tank levels and Kings' inventory data, scheduling deliveries before clients need replenishment

Skills/Competencies

A leader operators respect: you can hold a driver with twenty years on the road to a standard without conflict, and you do it by picking up the phone rather than sending an email
Calm when it all lands at once, so when a truck is down, a client's tank is dry, and there is a lineup at the pump, you decide what gets solved first and keep everything else moving
Safety first, with no exceptions: you treat safety rules as the reason everyone gets home, not as paperwork to get through
A puzzle solver who enjoys sequencing loads, compartments, routes, and hours, and who sees the wasted kilometre before it gets driven
Accurate with paperwork, so tickets, bills of lading, and volumes get reconciled properly the first time, because billing and the client both rely on it
Commercially minded: an empty tank reads to you as a phone call worth making, not just space on a truck
Steady with clients, confirming details, delivering bad news early, and following up until the question is closed, with a tone that holds when someone is frustrated
An early starter, because the day begins in the yard before the trucks roll and you are there for it

Required Qualifications

Dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination: 1 year minimum
Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
Comfortable with systems: dispatch and routing software, electronic logs, tank monitoring, and the everyday Microsoft tools (Excel, Word) and Teams
Working knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements and hours of service rules, or willingness to obtain certification
High attention to detail for accurate reconciliation and record keeping
Available for early morning starts and on-call rotation
Legally entitled to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Supervising or leading a team of drivers or operators: 1 year
Experience in fuel and energy distribution industry, logistics, transport, or similar industrial services environment
Class 1 licence, or hands-on familiarity with fuel truck operations
Current TDG certification
A combination of education and experience may be considered
