General
Shell Trading integrates a global portfolio of crude oil, refined products, natural gas, electrical power and chemicals.

Based in the UK, US, Canada, Singapore, The Netherlands, Japan, Barbados, The UAE, and Russia and with over 2,000 employees, on any one day we can trade over 11 million barrels of crude and oil products and 9 billion cubic feet of natural gas.

We also provide marine expertise to over 40 operating units and manage a fleet of around 56 gas and oil tankers and trade 45 million megawatt hours of power quarterly.

Purpose
The High Sulphur crude trading team is responsible for crude trading ex the Middle East, Far East and FSU into all demand basins across the globe. The Singapore team in particular is responsible for all crude oil trading activities in the East and Singapore is among the three major trading centres within Shell Trading.

Counterparties include National Oil Companies, trading entities, independent producers and refiners, oil majors, exchanges, brokers, etc. This job will emphasise trading in WTI, Brent, Dubai and Oman crude derivatives. The coming introduction of ICE Dubai futures and Oman futures on the new Dubai Mercantile Exchange will add complexity and opportunities for business growth.

Accountabilities
The following outlines the job description:
(a) First or second interface with downstream.
(b) Direct responsibility and oversight for paper / physical book coordination and alignment.
(c) European, USG and USWC arbitrage focal point.
(d) Contribute directly to the development of the team’s trading tactics and strategies.
(e) Speculative position taking on physical crude oil and various crude oil derivatives.
(f) Operation of nightly Platts window for Oman and Dubai benchmark quotes setting.
(g) Direct responsibility for physical crude over the counter market activities.
(h) Manage relationships and trading activities with various commercial traders.
(i) Support and perform trading activities on the new Eastern futures exchanges.
(j) Customer visits as required for maintaining effective relationships.
(k) Cover and support the primary derivatives trader.
(l) Perform sales of Shell equity crude oil and for coverage Shell's Eastern refinery crude requirements.
(m) Formulate Sour Supply / Demand forward market views for the East
